Mihi School began working with Kids Greening Taupō at the beginning of 2025.
Throughout the year we have learnt about:
predators to our native plants and animals
the native plants at Opepe Reserve
developing a lizard garden at school
how to successfully plant a native tree
We participated in the Kids Greening Taupō Day, visited Opepe Reserve, planted on Mt Tauhara for Matariki, and visited Kiwi at the Gallagher Insurance Kiwi Burrow.
We thank them for their support to plant our front garden and the boundary fence line in native plants.
A special thank you to Contact Energy for their support with the Take Action Fund.
This enabled us to purchase new gloves and tools for our students to use when working in our gardens.
