Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) is encouraged at Mihi School.
EOTC is anything that happens outside the four walls of the classroom and focuses on the ways that teachers and students interact with the environment as a learning space. EOTC experiences bring a localised curriculum to life as students are able to see it in an authentic context, relating it to their own lives.
EOTC includes learning on school grounds, trips, camps, local visits, and meeting people who share their knowledge of authetic topics. EOTC helps our students to better see themselves in the community and in the world. It brings the New Zealand curriculum to life.
